The Eye of the world – Kerið crater lake is a volcanic crater lake located in the Grímsnes, in the Southern Region of Iceland.
Kerid crater is one of the many crater lakes in this area, known as Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone. This zone includes the Reykjanes peninsula and the Langjökull Glacier.
Kerid crater lake is proximately 55 m (180 ft) deep, 170 m (560 ft) wide, and 270 m (890 ft) across.
When seen from high above, Kerid Crater lake has a shape that looks like a human eye, a true Eye Of The World!
